Community art brings colour and pride to Feltham’s regeneration story

Kate Deighton, Founder, TimeGivers, said:

September - October 2025

TimeGivers collaboration with Artists Leah Wood & Jemma Powell

In partnership with St Lawrence’s and Springwest Academy, TimeGivers facilitated a community mural project in Feltham that brought together young volunteers, local adult volunteers and artists Leah Wood and Jemma Powell. The initiative celebrated creativity, collaboration and community connection through art. The partnership continued at their Frieze Art Exhibition, Tracing Time, where 10% of art sale proceeds were generously donated to TimeGivers in support of our mission to connect young people with meaningful volunteering opportunities.

Artists Leah Wood, left, and Jemma Powell helped children from St Lawrence primary school in Feltham, west London, create a mural to brighten a wall at Emily Cafe, a local coffee shop. The project was a collaboration with Timegivers, a charity that connects young people with their community through volunteering.

March - July 2025

Strand on the Green Junior School - Playground Boards Project

TimeGivers has been working closely with Strand on the Green Junior School to transform their playground into a vibrant and inspiring space. In collaboration with London-based artists, students explored school values, favourite book characters and environmental themes to co-create colourful artworks that now brighten the school playground. This initiative forms part of TimeGivers’ wider environmental and community engagement programme with the school, empowering young volunteers to take pride in giving back to their school and local community.

December 2024

‘Time Is Ours To Give’ song written for The Big Give Christmas Campaign

This song was written and produced by volunteers and performed by students aged 6-16 from two local state schools, Chiswick School and Cavendish Primary School. It is a heartfelt reflection of the power of giving back to our communities. Listen and stream it directly from Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube.

‘The digitalisation of humanity is destroying what it means to be human’

Also a patron of Age UK, Sophie deplores today’s “broken society” where the elderly are farmed out to care homes or left to wither away in isolation. Instead, she believes closer intergenerational bonds between teens and older people might mitigate loneliness and depression in both groups. “My friend Kate has set up a charity called TimeGivers, where teens go to visit lonely elderly people in their community,” she says, wishing this could become a “societal habit we all nurture.”

Goodwill To All Mankind: Worthy Charities to Support This Christmas

This relatively new (and currently only London-based) charity connects young people (aged four to 18) in schools with volunteering opportunities in their communities, thereby filling a large gap. 


Founder Kate Deighton says: ‘Our mission is to create enriching and bespoke volunteering experiences for children, which offer the greatest impact on them and their community, inspiring a lifetime of giving by helping people and the planet.’
