Morgane Kendregan Interview: Volunteer of the Month

We are so happy to announce our former team-member as our Volunteer of the Month: Morgane Kendregan!

We’ll never forget the moment Morgane walked into our kitchen-office—a true ray of sunshine who brought warmth and positivity not only to her colleagues but also to the children we work with. With her exceptional marketing expertise, she transformed our Instagram into the vibrant and joyful space it is today.

Morgane believed in the potential of TimeGivers from the very beginning and dedicated herself wholeheartedly to our mission. She took every opportunity to volunteer, often alongside her wonderful partner, Konstantin, who has also been recognised as our Volunteer of the Month. Together, they embody the spirit of generosity and enthusiasm that drives TimeGivers.

One of Morgane's standout contributions was planning and managing one of our largest volunteer days at Kensington Aldridge Academy, which she organised beautifully. Morgane is the perfect blend of diligent behind-the-scenes work, with an eye for detail to ensure everything is flawlessly executed, while somehow maintaining a seamless front-of-house presence.

Although Morgane has accepted an incredible opportunity in Amsterdam, we will miss her immensely and she will always be a cherished member of the TimeGivers family. Her contributions will continue to influence our work for years to come.

Thank you, Morgane, for everything you have done for us. Your unwavering smile, grace, and diligence have left a mark on us and the communities we work with. We wish you all the best in your new adventure and know that you will continue to spread joy and make a positive difference wherever you go!

Q: How did you first hear about TimeGivers?

A: I first heard about TimeGivers through the amazing Laura Winningham. I was hoping to work somewhere with a purpose, where I could make a real positive impact. She said she was working with a charity called TimeGivers and that she was sure it was going to be something big. Then she introduced me to Kate two days later I went on my first volunteering trip with her and the rest was history!

Q: How do you think volunteering with TimeGivers has impacted you?

A: Everything about TimeGivers changed my life for the better. Volunteering was something that I missed from my life. I used to do it from a young age but in adult life I felt more nervous about where or how to access it. TimeGivers gave me the perfect opportunity to do something good for others where I could see an immediate impact. Every trip I would finish feeling really happy and fulfilled.

Q: What do you think is the benefit of TimeGivers for young people?

A: There is so much good in TimeGivers. I have seen first-hand that it teaches children new things about themselves that they wouldn't have had access to in a typical school environment. It broadens their perspectives to look beyond themselves and connects them with a whole other world. They feel part of the community and more empowered to take action on things that they care about. We cannot underestimate the power of giving back and when you spend a single day with TimeGivers you see how life-changing it is.

Q: Do you remember a particularly special moment?

A: I have so many. I think one of my favourites was when we brought a class to The Reed Day Centre to paint pebbles with the elderly. There was one boy in particular who seemed more sceptical of the trip and nervous about how we was going to feel interacting with the guests. He was shy at first but once he started talking to the guests the conversation just flowed. He began painting pebbles for everyone on his table with their initials and one of the guests who is an artist made him a sketch. At the end, I asked everyone to share what they learned and he said "I never thought I could have so much in common with people so different from me, it makes me want to do more things that can make them happy in their life". The teacher even told me she had never seen this side to him before. I will always cherish that moment.

Q: Why do you like working with TimeGivers?

A: You just couldn't find a better group of people, passionate about their work and striving to create the best experiences for young people. The whole team just brings you joy. Every activity takes a lot of time and energy but when you are working with the TimeGivers team it feels seamless. Kate is one of those people that when you meet you never want to let go because she makes you feel like you can do anything. Georgina, Charlotte, Sarah, Laura, Jess and Jen I love you all! The best team ever!
