At TimeGivers, we're incredibly grateful for the people who help shape our organisation and bring our mission to life. One of those people is former team member and volunteer, Morgane Kendregan, whose energy, creativity and passion left a lasting impact on our programmes, volunteers and young people.

Morgane first discovered TimeGivers through a recommendation from a friend and was immediately drawn to the opportunity to make a meaningful difference.

"I was hoping to work somewhere with a purpose, where I could make a real positive impact. Laura introduced me to Kate, and two days later I went on my first volunteering trip with her. The rest was history!"

From transforming our social media presence to leading volunteering days and helping create memorable experiences for children and communities, Morgane quickly became an integral part of the TimeGivers family.

The Impact of Volunteering

For Morgane, volunteering with TimeGivers rekindled something she had missed in adulthood.

"Volunteering was something I had always loved, but as an adult I felt nervous about where or how to access it. TimeGivers gave me the perfect opportunity to do something good for others where I could see an immediate impact. Every trip I would finish feeling really happy and fulfilled."

Her experience highlights something we hear from many volunteers: giving your time not only benefits others, but can also be incredibly rewarding on a personal level.

Why Volunteering Matters for Young People

Having worked closely with children across many of our projects, Morgane witnessed first-hand how volunteering can broaden horizons and build confidence.

"TimeGivers teaches children new things about themselves that they wouldn't have access to in a typical school environment. It broadens their perspectives, helps them look beyond themselves, and connects them with a whole other world. They feel part of their community and more empowered to take action on things they care about."

At TimeGivers, we believe that every young person has the potential to create positive change, and experiences like these help them discover just how powerful their actions can be.

A Moment to Remember

One of Morgane's favourite memories comes from an intergenerational volunteering trip to a local day centre.

Children and older community members spent the day painting pebbles together, sharing stories and getting to know one another. One student arrived feeling unsure about the experience and was hesitant to engage.

As the session progressed, however, he began chatting with the guests, creating personalised pebbles with their initials and forming genuine connections. One of the guests, an artist, even created a sketch for him.

At the end of the visit, the student reflected:

"I never thought I could have so much in common with people so different from me. It makes me want to do more things that can make them happy in their life."

His teacher later shared that she had never seen this side of him before.

For Morgane, this perfectly captured the power of volunteering: bringing people together, breaking down barriers and helping young people see the world through a different lens.

The TimeGivers Team

When asked what she enjoyed most about working at TimeGivers, Morgane's answer was simple: the people.

"You just couldn't find a better group of people, passionate about their work and striving to create the best experiences for young people. The whole team brings you joy. Every activity takes a lot of time and energy, but when you're working with the TimeGivers team, it feels seamless."

Thank You, Morgane

We are so grateful for everything Morgane contributed during her time with TimeGivers. Her passion for community, commitment to young people and belief in the power of volunteering continue to inspire us.

Stories like Morgane's remind us why we do what we do: creating opportunities for young people to connect with their communities, discover their potential and make a positive difference in the world around them.
