Programme Co-ordinator
As the Programme Co-ordinator for TimeGivers, I work closely with the Programme Manager to support the delivery of safe, engaging, and meaningful volunteering activities across our partner schools. I liaise with schools to shape their activities and coordinate these with the community partnerships coordinator and the volunteering team, ensuring the programme runs smoothly and successfully at every school.
I am an ex-primary school teacher with over five years’ teaching experience and a specialism in early years education, having worked in both state and private school settings. During this time, I developed a deep understanding of how children learn and how to engage with them effectively, gaining a wide range of techniques for working with young people- skills that I now bring to designing and delivering TimeGivers’ volunteering programmes. I also hold a degree in Sociology from Bristol University, reflecting my long-standing interest in people, communities and how we interact within society.
I am passionate about TimeGivers’ mission because, having worked in multiple schools, I have seen how rare programmes like this are. Volunteering gives children a real sense of pride and purpose and the impact extends beyond them to the wider community. I am inspired by the joy children experience when volunteering and by the chance to create meaningful opportunities that aren’t available enough.
My favourite volunteering event with TimeGivers was the Cookie Drive, a fun-filled two-day event where around 180 children baked and donated 260 cookies to local food banks, learning essential baking skills and the importance of giving back. I particularly enjoyed helping with the drop-offs in the community, seeing the happiness it brings and the impact of the children’s efforts first-hand.
