Imogen Lavelle

Trustee

Imogen Lavelle, our Health and Safety Lead, provides vital expertise and local insight as Headteacher of the Good Shepherd Primary School, a key school partner. She joined the TimeGivers Board of Trustees after seeing first-hand the impact volunteering can have on young people when it is embedded into school life in a practical, sustainable way.

She was introduced to TimeGivers in September 2024 by a parent and Adult Volunteer. Recognising that while her school was strong in supporting international causes, there was an opportunity to strengthen connections within the local community, so she welcomed TimeGivers into the school. The partnership began with a local care home and quickly grew. Within five months, TimeGivers clubs became a valued part of the school calendar, with strong pupil engagement and demand for more opportunities.

Imogen values the way TimeGivers gives students meaningful, hands-on experiences beyond the classroom. Through structured volunteering - from visiting care home residents to supporting local community initiatives - pupils develop empathy, responsibility and confidence in real-world settings.

She also appreciates the practical model TimeGivers provides, building community partnerships and organising logistics so that staff can focus on teaching while students access meaningful opportunities.

As a Trustee, Imogen brings senior leadership experience, strong local networks and a clear commitment to community engagement. Her perspective as a headteacher helps ensure TimeGivers’ work in schools remains purposeful, manageable and impactful.
